Start by identifying the Elderly with Glasses set—this is your confidence builder. Four older characters, each wearing eyeglasses, each with white or gray hair: scan the board and pick them out immediately. Don't second-guess yourself here. This move clears away four tiles and shrinks your mental load significantly, which is crucial for tackling Connect Master 1 successfully.

Next, isolate the Blue Haired characters. These individuals have unmistakably blue or blue-tinted hair—not gray, not dark, but a clear blue shade that stands out. Even if they're wearing different outfits or have different skin tones, the hair color is the unifying trait in Connect Master 1. Locking this set down eliminates another four tiles and leaves you with just eight to categorize.

Now you're left with eight tiles that fall into two remaining sets. This is where you need to slow down and compare details methodically. Look at each remaining character and ask yourself: does this person wear a hat? Not "could this be a hat?" but rather "is this clearly, unmistakably a hat?" In Connect Master 1, the People with Hats category includes individuals sporting actual hats—whether it's a wide-brimmed hat, a fedora, or any other style of headwear that sits atop their head as an accessory.

To avoid mis-grouping tiles, zoom in mentally on the top of each character's head. Distinguish between natural hair (even if styled or colored) and external headwear placed on top of that hair. This distinction is essential for solving Connect Master Level 1 cleanly because it's the only way to separate the remaining two sets without overlap.

Once you've confidently placed the Elderly with Glasses, Blue Haired, and People with Hats groups, the fourth set emerges automatically. In Connect Master 1, the last group typically consists of characters who don't fit into any of the previous three categories—they're neither elderly with glasses, blue-haired, nor wearing hats. However, this fourth set still shares a unifying trait: you need to identify what that final connecting characteristic is by examining the remaining four tiles together. It might be a specific outfit color, a shared expression, a particular age range, or some other visual element that wasn't immediately obvious when the board was full.
